Malo Jezero (Small Lake)

Malo jezero is the smaller sister to Veliko jezero, connected to it by a narrow passage under the Mali Most footbridge. It covers about a third the area of the Great Lake but is noticeably shallower, which means it heats up even faster in summer — water temperatures in August regularly reach 28–29°C. The designated swimming area is just below the Mali Most bridge, where wooden platforms and a modest beach give easy water access. Because it's smaller and slightly harder to reach from the main ferry ports, it tends to be quieter than the Great Lake's more accessible shores.

The walk from Soline to Mali Most takes about 20 minutes along a flat path through the pine forest. The bridge itself is a simple concrete span but the view from it — looking down into the channel between the two lakes with the monastery island visible across Veliko jezero — is worth the short detour. On a calm morning before the day-trippers arrive, Malo jezero can feel entirely private: the water perfectly still, the surrounding forest reflected in it, no sound except the occasional boat heading for the monastery. It's a smaller experience than the Great Lake but an easier one to have to yourself.
