Konoba Mondo is one of the best-known restaurants in Motovun, built around a short menu of Istrian ingredients: truffles, prsut (air-dried ham), pasta with game, and fresh local vegetables. The dining room is small and plain, and the cooking is serious without being theatrical. Truffle pasta here — hand-made tajarin dressed simply with shaved white or black truffle depending on season — is a benchmark for the genre.
The restaurant sits just inside the main gate, convenient to both the town centre and the small car park below. Prices are high for Croatia, reasonable for the quality of ingredients. Reserve ahead for summer weekends.
