Děčín is one of the easiest places to reach the Elbe sandstone landscape without first disappearing into a national park village. Marked trails leave from town and climb into the hills above the river, with views down the gorge toward Hřensko and the German border.
For a relaxed day, walk a short section above the river and return by train or bus. Stronger walkers can use Děčín as the start of a longer Bohemian Switzerland hike.
