Pardubice Castle is the city's strongest historic sight. It looks less like a fairy-tale castle than a fortified Renaissance residence, with broad grassy ramparts that make the approach feel unusually open.
Inside are museum collections and galleries, but the setting is the real draw. The castle sits close enough to the old square that it naturally becomes part of a central walk rather than a separate excursion.
