Písek Stone Bridge is the town's reason to be on a travel map. Built in the 13th century, it is the oldest preserved stone bridge in the Czech Republic and one of the rare early Gothic bridges still standing in Central Europe.
The Baroque statues on the bridge are replicas, with the originals protected in the museum. The setting over the Otava is simple and handsome, especially from the riverbank where the old centre rises behind it.
