Åland Hunting and Fishing Museum

Small Käringsund museum about the hunting, fishing, and working coast of Åland.

The Åland Hunting and Fishing Museum explains the practical side of island life: boats, nets, traps, tools, trophies, and the seasonal work that kept coastal families going. It is not a polished national museum, but it gives useful texture to the boathouses and fishing harbour around Käringsund.

The museum is best paired with a walk around the old harbour. In summer it is a good low-key stop before or after the ferry, especially if you want Åland to feel like more than pretty red roads and holiday cottages.
