Rahja Archipelago is a small maritime nature reserve southwest of Kalajoki. It is not dramatic in a fjord-and-cliff way; the appeal is low islands, sheltered water, birds and the soft emptiness of the Bothnian Bay.
The archipelago is best reached by boat, guided paddling trip or your own canoe if you know what you are doing. Several islands have simple excursion harbours and campfire sites.
