The Fell Lapland Nature Centre is Hetta's essential first stop. It explains the northern fell landscape, reindeer husbandry, Sámi culture, and the practical details of walking or skiing into the surrounding national park and wilderness areas.
It is also the starting point for several short trails, including the climb to Jyppyrä Hill. Even if you are only passing through, the exhibitions give context to the open country outside: why the treeline sits low here, how reindeer shape the seasons, and why weather is the one local authority you should not argue with.
