Kirkkopahta Sieidi and Valkeajoki Hut

Kirkkopahta is a large forest boulder traditionally regarded as a Sami sieidi, or sacred place. Nearby, the Valkeajoki hut preserves a small piece of local timber-working history and can be entered freely.

The site is modest and unsupervised, but it gives a quiet glimpse of the older cultural landscape around Muonio. Treat the sieidi with respect and leave the hut as you found it.
