Lake Simojarvi is one of Ranua's main landscape anchors, a long lake scattered with islands and summer cottages. It is not a dramatic fell-lake scene; it is lower, quieter, and more typically southern Lapland, with forested shores and a lot of space.
The lake works best for fishing, paddling, swimming in summer, and understanding why Ranua feels more like water-and-bog country than mountain Lapland.
