Gåshällan sits out in the Närpes archipelago, in a protected shore area where the Gulf of Bothnia feels low, open, and a little austere. It is mainly a boating destination, with a jetty, anchorage, nature trail, and a former coast guard station now used as a rental cabin.
This is not a casual walk from town. If you have access to a boat, though, it gives Närpes a different face from the tomato greenhouses and flat inland villages.
