Lakeuden Risti, the Cross of the Plains, is the most recognisable part of Seinäjoki's Aalto Centre. The church was built in 1957-1960, and Aalto designed the interior details as well as the building itself.
The tower is the point of the visit if it is open: from above, the flat Southern Ostrobothnian landscape makes the church's name suddenly literal. Even from the ground, the clean white form has a calm authority.
