Varkaus Water Tower is an unusual local landmark: a water tower that also contains apartments. The lookout on top gives one of the best simple views over the town, its factories, and the lake channels around it.
It is not a must-see in bad weather, but on a clear day it helps make sense of Varkaus's geography. The town is easier to like once you have seen how it sits among water and industry.
