Lac du Bourget is the reason Aix-les-Bains feels larger than the town itself. The lake runs north to south under wooded slopes and limestone ridges, with Aix on the eastern shore and the Dent du Chat across the water.
Come for a swim, a boat trip, a lakeside cycle, or simply the evening light from the esplanade. The farther north you go, the wilder the reed beds and birdlife become.
