The Brevent cable car climbs the sunny north side of the Chamonix valley, opposite Mont Blanc. The first stage runs from Chamonix to Planpraz, then a second lift continues to Le Brevent at 2,525 m, with some of the best full-face views of the Mont Blanc massif.
It is a strong choice for walkers and photographers, especially when you want the mountains in front of you rather than under your feet. In summer, trails fan out from the upper stations; in winter, the same slopes form part of the Brevent-Flegere ski area.
