Col du Granon

The Col du Granon climbs above Saint-Chaffrey to 2,413 metres, a bare, hard road with wide views over the Serre-Chevalier valley. It is a serious cycling climb rather than a casual spin, and its Tour de France history gives it an extra pull for riders who collect famous passes.

The top is exposed and the road is seasonal. In summer, look for mornings when the pass is reserved for cyclists and closed to motor traffic.
