JY's, opened by chef Jean-Yves Schillinger in a half-timbered house overlooking the Petite Venise canal, holds one Michelin star and serves an inventive contemporary menu drawing on Asian and Alsatian ingredients in equal measure — foie gras with green tea, langoustine in tom yum broth, Munster cheese with quince. The dining room is small, the wine list is deep on Alsatian whites, and tables on the canal-side terrace are worth booking weeks ahead in summer. Tasting menus only; the eight-course evening menu is the full experience.
