The Musée Rignault occupies a 13th- to 15th-century house bequeathed to the village by Émile-Joseph Rignault, an industrialist and collector who lived in Saint-Cirq from the 1920s. Rignault collected medieval European religious sculpture, African and Asian art, and Chinese ceramics, and the house preserves much of it in the rooms where he lived.
It is not a large museum — an hour will see all of it — and the collection is eclectic rather than systematic. But the building itself is one of the finest in the village, with a small terraced garden facing the cliff opposite, and the rooms give a sense of how the well-off lived in Saint-Cirq before tourism arrived. Opening hours are limited to summer afternoons and a small fee applies.
