Tombeau de Sully

Small funerary chapel holding the tomb of Henry IV's minister the Duke of Sully.

The Tombeau de Sully is a small, easily missed piece of national history. Maximilien de Bethune, Duke of Sully and finance minister to Henry IV, became lord of Nogent in the early 17th century.

His tomb, shared with his wife, sits in a small building in the former hospital courtyard. It is worth seeking out if you are following the town's older political story rather than only the castle.
