Vieux Village

Peillon's old village is the reason most people make the climb. The houses sit tight on a rocky spur, with cobbled alleys, arched passages, stepped lanes, and sudden views into the surrounding hills. There are no shops in the core, so it feels less dressed-up than many Riviera hill villages.

It does not take long to see, but the pleasure is in slowing down. Walk the lanes without a route, pause at the edges for the view, and remember that the village is not a stage set. People still live here, and the quiet is part of why Peillon is worth the detour.
