The Pointe de Men Meur marks the western limit of Guilvinec, a low rocky headland where the granite meets the Atlantic in a tumble of boulders and tidal channels. The views from here are excellent: east toward the port and Lechiagat, west along the rugged Bigouden coast to the Eckmuhl lighthouse, and on clear days you can make out the Iles de Glenan on the southern horizon.
The GR 34, Brittany's long-distance coastal path, passes directly over the headland, and this stretch is one of the finest sections in southern Finistere. The rocks are popular with shore anglers and the pools are full of crabs, anemones, and small fish at low tide. It is an exposed spot in a storm, which only makes it more dramatic. A short loop walk from the port via the Greve Blanche and back along the road takes about an hour.
