Roman Thermal Baths

The thermal baths at Jublains are among the most extensive surviving Gallo-Roman bath complexes in northwestern France. The foundations of the frigidarium, tepidarium, and caldarium are clearly visible, along with the hypocaust heating system — the underfloor channels that carried hot air beneath the bathing rooms.

The scale of the baths reinforces the picture of Noviodunum as a substantial Roman town. Public baths of this size required considerable civic investment and a large enough population to justify them. The site is freely accessible and signed, and it is a short walk from both the theatre and the fortress.
