Crêperie Ar Billig

Ar Billig (Breton for "the pan") is one of Morlaix's most reliably good crêperies, tucked in the old town a short walk from the viaduct. The galettes (buckwheat savoury crêpes) are made with local flour and filled with Breton staples — andouille sausage, Breton ham, Pont-l'Évêque cheese, and eggs from local farms. The dessert crêpes with salted caramel, another Breton specialty, are excellent.

The room is small and fills up, particularly at weekend lunchtime. The decor is unpretentious and the service friendly and efficient — this is a place people return to rather than discover. The cider list is good: ask for the local farm production rather than the commercial brands.

No booking accepted for small parties; arrive early or expect to wait at weekends. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
