The Parc Botanique de Suscinio occupies nearly three hectares within walking distance of Morlaix's town centre, set around the buildings of the former Château de Suscinio. The botanical collection contains over 1,500 plant species, with particular strength in rare trees — some of the specimens are among the largest of their kind in Brittany, including champion-class examples of Asian and North American species that thrive in the mild, wet Finistère climate.
The layout is informal and the atmosphere is that of a well-maintained private estate rather than a municipal park — the collection is coherent and evidently cared for. Spring brings rhododendrons and camellias; summer, the full canopy of exotic trees; autumn, the colour. The château buildings at the centre add architectural interest.
The park is within easy walking distance of the Morlaix train station and makes a good first or last stop if you're on a tight schedule. Entry fee is modest. Children and adults who like trees — the strange, the ancient, the enormous — will find plenty to stop them in their tracks.
