The Fürstlich Fürstenbergische Brauerei has been brewing in Donaueschingen since 1283 — among the oldest continuously operating breweries in Germany. It still belongs to the Fürstenberg family and produces Pilsener, lager, Weizen and seasonal beers, distributed widely across Baden-Württemberg.
The brewery offers guided tours that walk you through the modern brewing hall and the small museum of historical brewing equipment, finishing in the tasting room with a glass of fresh Fürstenberg Pils. Book ahead through the brewery website. The taproom and beer garden are open to the public during the warmer months and are a fine place to round off a day in town.
