St Martin's Church

Gothic town church with a 65-metre tower and late-medieval choir stalls

St Martin's is Memmingen's landmark church, its tower still the tallest point in the old town. The building grew into its present Gothic form from the 14th century onward and became a centre of the local Reformation in the 16th century.

Inside, look for the late-Gothic choir stalls, one of the church's great survivals after Reformation changes stripped away much of the earlier furnishing. In season, tower visits give the best overview of the walls and roofs.
