A 1,391-metre summit immediately west of Mittenwald, reached by a sequence of two chairlifts that climb out of the valley behind the town. The summit is grassy and unintimidating — an easy 10-minute walk from the top station — but the panorama across to the bare cliffs of the Karwendel is spectacular and the descent on foot, via the Korbinianhütte, is one of the classic walks of the area.
A smaller, family-friendly winter ski area uses the same lifts. The mountain restaurant at the upper station serves the usual Kaiserschmarrn and Schweinebraten, with a sunny terrace.
