Bräustüberl Tegernsee

Historic monastery brewpub serving Tegernsee beer and Bavarian food beside the lake.

Bräustüberl Tegernsee is the old monastery beer hall, and it is the meal most visitors remember. The beer comes from the ducal brewery attached to the former abbey complex, and the food is the hearty Bavarian kind: sausages, roast pork, dumplings, cheese spread, and big pretzels.

It is busy for good reason. Go between normal meal times if you want a calmer table, or lean into the noise and treat it as part of the Tegernsee ritual: church, lake, beer.
