Wallberg is the classic high viewpoint for Lake Tegernsee. The cable car from Rottach-Egern climbs to a plateau below the summit, leaving only a short walk for broad views over the lake, the surrounding villages, and the first serious ridges of the Bavarian Alps.
In warm weather it is a hiking and panorama stop; in winter the natural toboggan run is one of the valley's signature outings. It sits outside Tegernsee town proper, but it belongs to the same day: boat or bus around the lake, then up the mountain for the view back over the water.
