The Bomann Museum, opposite Celle Palace, is the main place to understand the town and its region rather than just admire the facades. Its displays cover rural Lower Saxony, town history, crafts, interiors, and the changes brought by industry.
It is especially useful after a walk through the Altstadt, because it puts those timber-framed streets into a wider local story. The reconstructed rooms and regional-history exhibits give Celle more depth than a simple pretty-town stop.
