Cuxhaven's fishing harbour keeps the town from feeling like only a resort. Around the old and newer harbour basins you get nets, boats, fish restaurants, gulls, and the practical side of a North Sea town.
It is best combined with Alte Liebe and the waterfront museums. Come hungry if you like fresh fish; this is the part of town where that advice makes the most sense.
