Weinberg

The Weinberg is Hitzacker's local hill, rising above the old town and harbour. It is modest by any mountain standard, but the view is the reason to come: the Elbe, the Jeetzel, and the wide river meadows spread out below, with the old centre tucked tightly against the water.

The climb is short enough to fit into any walk around town. Go in clear weather, or near sunset, when the low landscape begins to make sense from above.
