The Uenglinger Gate is the old town's best single sight: a tall, decorated brick gate from the 15th century, built for defence but dressed with little turrets and patterns that show off the wealth of the Hanseatic town. It stands just west of the centre and makes a good starting point for a walk into Stendal.
