Alte Münze is a compact museum in one of Stolberg's oldest buildings, on Niedergasse in the lower old town. It links the pretty half-timbered streets to the harder history that paid for them: mining, metalwork, and coin production in the southern Harz.
The museum is small, but it gives Stolberg a useful layer beyond postcard architecture. Look for the minting demonstrations if they are running.
