A separate branch of the same karst system as the Lake Cave was equipped during the 1950s as an underground emergency hospital, with operating theatres, wards, and a generator room. It was decommissioned in the 1980s and reopened as a museum.
The tour passes through the original equipment — iron beds, dusty surgical lights, the wartime-style ventilation system — alongside displays on the cave's natural geology. It is reached from the same visitor centre as the Lake Cave, and a combined ticket makes sense.
