The former Zalaegerszeg Synagogue is one of the town centre's stronger buildings, an eclectic early-20th-century structure with more presence than many of the surrounding civic facades. It now works as a concert and exhibition hall.
Its changed use says a lot without needing heavy explanation. Visit for the architecture, but let it also stand as a marker of the Jewish community that was once part of the town's everyday life.
