Systrastapi is a cliff just west of Kirkjubaejarklaustur, less famous than the canyon but closely tied to the village's convent folklore. Two nuns are said to be buried on top, which gives the steep little climb more atmosphere than its size would suggest.
The ascent is rough and exposed in places, with fixed aids on the steepest line. Skip it in bad weather, and treat it as a short local hike rather than a casual viewpoint.
