The Jackie Clarke Collection is Ballina's strongest indoor sight: a public collection of Irish historical material built from one man's lifelong collecting. It covers more than 400 years, with rare books, letters, posters, newspapers, photographs, political cartoons, and material linked to major figures in Irish history.
Give it an hour or two. The restored bank building and small garden make it a pleasant visit even if you are not usually drawn to archives.
