Rosserk Friary is a handsome Franciscan ruin north of Ballina, founded in the 15th century and left roofless but still substantial. The stonework, windows, and riverside setting make it one of the better quick excursions from town.
The lane in is narrow, so drive slowly and give yourself time to wander. It pairs naturally with Moyne Abbey and Killala.
