Doagh Famine Village is an open-air museum north of Carndonagh, built around cottages and guided storytelling. It starts with the Great Famine of the 1840s but ranges into later rural poverty, emigration, land, religion, and the effects of the border on local life.
It is stronger with a guide than as a set of buildings. Leave enough time for the full visit; rushing through would miss the point.
