Donagh Cross

Donagh Cross stands west of Carndonagh's centre near the old church site. It is a seventh-century high cross, one of the oldest in Ireland, flanked by two standing stones often interpreted as guard stones.

The setting is quiet rather than polished. Look also for Donagh Church across the road and the nearby Mass Rock, a reminder of Catholic worship during the Penal era.
