Glen Head is the high ground west of Glencolmcille, where the road and walking routes climb above the bay to wide Atlantic views. The cliffs, signal-tower remains, and rough grazing land give the walk a wilder feel than the short distance from the village suggests.
The best outing is the loop from the valley toward the old signal tower, returning with views back over Glen Bay and the scattered houses below. Conditions change quickly on this coast; low cloud can erase the view, while a clear evening makes the headland one of the best short walks in southwest Donegal.
