The Saracen Castle is more ruin than monument, but its position is superb. Steps climb from the village into the rock, reaching the remains of a fortress that once controlled the valley and later passed through Norman and feudal hands.
Come for the view as much as the masonry. The village, the Dolomiti Lucane, and Castelmezzano across the valley all make more sense from up here.
