Chiesa di San Rocco

Small 17th-century church on the edge of the village

The little church of San Rocco sits on the western edge of the centre and dates from the 17th century — a votive chapel of the kind built across Liguria in the wake of the plague epidemics, dedicated to Saint Roch, the protector against pestilence.

The interior is plain, with a single nave and a simple altar. It is generally only open on the feast of San Rocco (16 August) and for occasional local services, but the exterior is worth the few minutes' walk from the main square.
