The parish church of Sant'Andrea stands at the centre of Plodio village, its 18th-century façade concealing an older baroque core from the 16th century. When the church was rebuilt and enlarged in the 1700s, the original carved central portal and the decorated pilasters of the earlier structure were incorporated into the new design rather than demolished. The result is an unusual architectural layering that rewards close examination of the façade details.
The interior contains wooden choir stalls and several votive paintings typical of Ligurian hill parishes. The church is usually unlocked during the morning hours; ask at the municipality if you find it closed and want to look inside. The small square in front of the church is the social centre of the village.
