Da Ö Vittorio

Da Ö Vittorio is a Recco institution, one of the eight restaurants entitled to serve focaccia col formaggio IGP. The Bertolone family have been baking it on Via Roma since 1955 and keep the wood-fired oven running through long lunches and dinners. The focaccia comes whole on a round tin, and you eat it with your hands; the cheese is exclusively prescinsêua, a Ligurian fresh cheese that some other restaurants substitute with stracchino.

Beyond the focaccia, the kitchen turns out solid Genoese cooking: pansoti in walnut sauce, fritto misto, baccalà. The dining room is plain and bright, the prices honest, and reservations sensible on weekends.
