The Pilgrim's Path is a low coastal trail running from Spotorno around the headland to the village of Bergeggi opposite the island. It follows the line of the ancient via Iulia Augusta and gives the best views in town: the path winds through Mediterranean macchia and aleppo pine, with the limestone cliffs of Punta del Maiolo dropping straight to the sea.
The walk takes around an hour and a half each way. Best in spring when the rock roses, broom, and rosemary are in flower, or late afternoon when the light hits the cliffs. Continue from Bergeggi by bus or train back to Spotorno.
