Medieval Bridge over the Neva

The humpbacked medieval bridge over the Neva river at Zuccarello is described by local historians as the finest medieval bridge in western Liguria — a bold claim, but the proportions are elegant. The single arch carries the old road across the river at the bottom of the village and has survived intact despite floods and centuries of use.

Standing on the bridge gives the best view back up toward the village: the porticoed houses stacked against the hillside with the castle ruins above. It's an excellent spot for photographs in the morning light. The bridge itself is still walkable and forms a natural starting or ending point for a walk along the Neva riverbank.
