Falletti Castle

Hilltop castle that anchors Barolo and now houses the village's wine museum

Falletti Castle is the obvious landmark of Barolo, rising above the compact village and the vineyard slopes below it. Its oldest parts go back to the medieval defensive site, though much of the building took its present shape under the Falletti family and later restorations.

The castle is most useful to travelers because it gathers Barolo's story in one place: views over the Langhe, the WiMu wine museum upstairs, and the regional enoteca in the cellars. Even if you do not visit every room, climb up here to understand the lay of the land.
