Varone Waterfall is not a wide postcard cascade. It is a narrow, noisy drop hidden inside a gorge, where water from Lake Tenno has spent thousands of years cutting back through the rock. Walkways lead to lower and upper viewpoints, with spray, echo, and cold air doing most of the theatre.
It sits in Tenno, about three kilometres from Riva, so it works well by bike, shuttle, or taxi. The visit is short, but it is a strong contrast to the open lakefront.
